Library Clubs
The SHS Library is home to several student clubs, including the Model United Nations team and the monthly Seekonk High Book Group,. The library also serves as a community meeting spot for the Key Club, the student-run SAT prep class, the Peer Helping Network (PHN) Club and more.
Model United NationsSeekonk High's newest academic team is Model United Nations. Model United Nations, or MUN, is a simulation of the United Nations that gives students hands-on experience with current events, topics in international relations and diplomacy. Seekonk students meet on Wednesday afternoons in the SHS Library to learn about international issues and practice public speaking and debate skills.
The goal of MUN is to effectively take on the identity of a country when students attend Model UN conferences with students from other high schools. The team competes in up to 3 conferences each year, including a 3-day overnight conference. In December 2017, the SHS Model UN team will host it's third annual, all-student run conference for area high schoolers - WarriorMUN III - check out the website! |
SHS Book ClubThe Book Group is open to all SHS students who like to read current YA fiction and talk about it in a friendly, casual environment. All SHS students are welcome - talk to Mrs. Larson to find out more!
